It's Bossa Nova time on BBR...Again! To kick things off, we'll treat ourselves to an entire live concert from one of Bossa Nova's greatest guitarist composers: The incredibly talented Toquinho! Better known for his musical partnership with Vinicius de Moraes, we will treat ourselves to a rare performance in Italy from 1983.

Bem Brasil #47, Featuring MPB-4: Two Hours of Vocal Virtuosity! Originally Aired 06/02/13

 On this Sunday’s Bem Brasil With Will Crawford, we will feature a whole hour of vocal virtuosity, courtesy of MPB-4. Active since 1965, the group is primarily known for their spirited interpretations of MPB and samba. Considered among the best vocal  groups in Brazil, They are well know for their frequent collaborations with Chico Buarque, Toquinho,  Quarteto em Cy and Djavan, In 2001, MPB-4 completed a 36-year career with the same lineup, which earned them a place in the Brazilian edition of the Brazilian Guinness Book of Records. As always, this is a show you will not want to miss, so be sure to tune in this Sunday from 6-8 PM in Studio 1A!

YouTube Pick of the Week #2 - The German Elis Regina Special (1970s)

As the host of a weekly radio show, I am always on the lookout for new material, even though I have a very extensive music collection. Fortunately, I have found that YouTube is an amazing resource and a great way to supplement my own repertoire.

Of course, not everything I find on YouTube is suitable for radio, and so I've decided to share some of those things on this blog so that it'll be more than just a repository of old shows. 

Our second pick of the week is an Elis Regina Special from the 1970s Widely acknowledged as one of the greatest Brazilian  singers of all time, she certainly deserves to be recognized as one of the most versatile voices of her generation, as evidenced by this short and comparatively tame set. Also on the bill are Tunisian-born singer Roberto Blanco and  French composer and pianist Michel Legrand.
