Bem Brasil #47, Featuring MPB-4: Two Hours of Vocal Virtuosity! Originally Aired 06/02/13

 On this Sunday’s Bem Brasil With Will Crawford, we will feature a whole hour of vocal virtuosity, courtesy of MPB-4. Active since 1965, the group is primarily known for their spirited interpretations of MPB and samba. Considered among the best vocal  groups in Brazil, They are well know for their frequent collaborations with Chico Buarque, Toquinho,  Quarteto em Cy and Djavan, In 2001, MPB-4 completed a 36-year career with the same lineup, which earned them a place in the Brazilian edition of the Brazilian Guinness Book of Records. As always, this is a show you will not want to miss, so be sure to tune in this Sunday from 6-8 PM in Studio 1A!

Remembering Georges Moustaki: Bem Brasil #46, Featuring Two Hours of...French Music? Originally Aired 05/26/13

This Sunday, Bem Brasil with Will Crawford will become Tres Bresil avec Guillaume Crawford and sound a lot less Brazilian than usual, but with good reason: On this program, we will celebrate the life of one of  France's most beloved songwriters, Georges Moustaki, who passed away this week at the age of 79. Highly influenced by Brazilian Music, Moustaki can be considered one of the precursors of what we now call  World music. To make things even more complicated, this is the last show of the month, so the entire thing will be broadcast in Portuguese! Multiculturalism rules!

As the saying goes, In for a penny, in for a pound. Hour# 2 will feature tracks from Brazilian artists like Rita Lee, Cássia Eller, Gilberto Gil, Quarteto em Cy, Singing French or French-Inspired songs, as well as French artists like Henri Salvador, Claude Nougaro, Georges Brassens and too many others to list here celebrating Brazilian music. Whether you tune in live 6-8 PM in Studio 1A or download the Podcast (Heck, why not do both?), This is a show you will not want to miss!
